بررسی به کارگیری نقش نماهای گفتمانی از سوی نویسندگان بومی انگلیسی زبان و نویسندگان غیرانگلیسی زبان ایرانی در چکیده مقالات انگلیسی در حوزۀ پزشکی

چکیده

این پژوهش به بررسی استفاده از نفش‌نماهای گفتمانی در چکیدۀ مقالات انگلیسی در حوزۀ پزشکی که توسط نویسندگان بومی انگلیسی‌زبان و نویسندگان غیرانگلیسی‌زبان ایرانی نگاشته شده، می‌پردازد. بدین منظور، مجموعِ 102 چکیده انگلیسی- 51 چکیدۀ انگلیسیِ نویسندگان بومی انگلیسی‌زبان و 51 چکیدۀ انگلیسیِ نویسندگان غیرانگلیسی‌زبان ایرانی- در چارچوب پیشنهادی هایلند و تسی (2004) تحلیل شدند. یافته‌های پژوهش نشان می‌دهد که هر دو گروه از نقش‌نماهای گفتمانی تعاملی بیشتر از نقش‌نماهای گفتمانی تبادلی استفاده می‌کنند. هیچ تفاوت معناداری بین دو گروه از حیث استفاده از نقش‌نماهای گفتمانی تبادلی مشاهده نشد. با وجود این، نویسندگان بومی انگلیسی‌زبان در مقایسه با نویسندگان غیرانگلیسی‌زبان ایرانی از نقش‌نماهای گفتمانی تعاملی بیشتر استفاده کرده بودند. اگر چه، هیچ تفاوتی در زیرگروه‌های نقش‌نماهای گفتمانی تبادلی (تردیدنماها، تقویت‌کننده‌ها، ارجاع‌های به خود، نگرش‌نما‌ها، نقش‌نماهای مشارکت‌جویی) وجود نداشت، اما در استفاده از نقش‌نمای چارچوب که نوعی نقش‌نمای گفتمانی تعاملی به حساب می‌آید، تفاوت معنادار مشاهده شد. همچنین در استفاده از نقش‌نماهای انتقالی، نقش‌نماهای مفهوم‌نما، گواه‌نماها، نقش‌نماهای درون‌متنی تفاوتی وجود نداشت. تردیدنما‌ها، تقویت‌کننده‌ها، ارجاع‌های به خود، نگرش‌نماها، نقش‌نماهای مشارکت‌جویی به ترتیب بیشترین فراوانی را بین انواع نقش‌نماهای گفتمانی تبادلی داشتند. در مقابل، از میان نقش‌نماهای تعاملی، نفش‌نماهای انتقالی و چارچوب بیشترین فراوانی را داشتند و بعد از آنها نیز نقش‌نماهای مفهوم‌نما از بیشترین فراوانی برخوردار بود؛ در صورتی که گواه‌نماها و نقش‌نماهای درون متنی کمترین فراوانی را داشتند. نتایج مبین اهمیت نقش‌نماهای گفتمانی در شکل‌گیری و ارتقای پیوستگی و سازماندهی در نگارش دانشگاهی در حوزه پزشکی است. شایان توجه است که بین دو گروه از حیث استفاده از نقش‌نماهای گفتمانی شباهت‌هایی مشاهده شد که ممکن است مختص حوزه پزشکی باشد. از این‌رو، طراحی محتوای آموزشی مخصوص برای استفاده مؤثر از نقش‌نماهای گفتمانی ضروری است. علاوه بر این، یکی از مسائل اساسی در طراحی برنامه‌های آموزشی برای افزایش مهارتهای دانشگاهی، توجه به پیش‌زمینه-های آموزشی و فرهنگی است.

This study examines the use of metadiscourse markers (MDMs) in English research article abstracts by Iranian non-native and English native medical scholars. Using Hyland and Tse’s (2004) classification system, 102 abstracts-51 written by native English speakers and 51 authored by non-native Iranian speakers-published between 2008 and 2023 in prestigious ISI journals, were analyzed. Findings indicate both groups predominantly use interactive MDMs over interactional ones. No significant difference was found between groups in interactional MDM usage. However, non-native writers (NNWs) used more interactive MDMs compared to native writers (NWs). While no disparity was noted in interactional subgroups (hedges, boosters, self-mentions, attitude markers, engagement markers), a significant difference was observed in frame markers, an interactive MDM subset. No differences were noted in the use of transition markers, code glosses, evidentials, and endophoric markers. Hedges were most frequently used among interactional MDMs, followed by boosters, self-mentions, attitude markers, and engagement markers. Frame and transition markers were predominant among interactive MDMs, followed by code glosses, with evidentials and endophoric markers being the least used. These results underscore the importance of MDMs in enhancing coherence and organization in medical academic writing. However, the MDM usage between the two groups shows similarities, which may be specific to the medical field, indicating the need for tailored curricula to promote effective MDM use. Additionally, it is essential to consider cultural and educational backgrounds when designing training programs to enhance academic writing skills.
