Based on his understanding of beauty and art, the author finds a relationship with his imaginative power that makes the truth and essence of art and beauty the source of his work of art. In fact, recognizing the aesthetic qualities resulting from the search for sufficient beauty conditions, shows with what qualities the work evokes beautiful and sublime feelings in us. In the present study, the aesthetic aspects of "Decline of Colonel" by Mahmoud Dolatabadi have been studied using a descriptive-analytical method. While introducing and presenting the summary of the story, the most used aesthetic elements include simile, metaphor, irony, imagination, recognition, symbol, allusion, etc. As a result, the author had a wide choice for emplying poetic elements in the novel, and he has used imaginary forms, especially similes, to express similar situations and express the inner feelings of the characters, and has created an atmosphere that can make a deep impact on the audience. <em>حقیقت زیباشناسی، واقعه ‏ای است که در لحظه ‏ای مفهوم ناپایداری و حرکت لرزشی حقیقت، تداعی ‏می‏شود. نویسنده براساس فهمی که از زیبایی و هنر دارد، با قوّۀ متخیّلۀ خویش نسبتی پیدا می‏کند که حقیقت و ذات هنر و زیبایی را مبدأ و منشأ اثر هنری خود قرار دهد. درواقع، شناخت کیفیات زیباشناختی ناشی از جست‌وجوی شرایط کافی زیبایی، نشان می‏دهد اثر با چه کیفیاتی احساسات زیبا و والایی را در ما برمی‏انگیزد. در پژوهش حاضر با روش توصیفی - تحلیلی به بررسی جنبه‏ های زیباشناسانۀ رمان زوال ‏کلنل محمود دولت‏آبادی پرداخته ‏شده ‏است. ضمن معرفی و ارائۀ خلاصۀ داستان، عناصر زیباشناسی پرکاربرد، ازجمله تشبیه، استعاره، کنایه، تخیّل، تشخیص، نماد، تلمیح و... در این داستان </em>بررسی شده‏ است<em>. نتیجه اینکه، عرصۀ ورود عناصر شعری در این رمان برای نویسنده گسترده ‏است و او با استفاده از صور ‏خیال، به‌ویژه تشبیه برای تقریر حال مشبّه و بیان احساسات درونی شخصیت‏ ها بهره ‏برده ‏و فضایی ساخته است که می‏ تواند تأثیری عمیق بر مخاطب بگذارد.</em> https://rhetorical.semnan.ac.ir/article_5700_a61cf40efbbd71935d9fdcf9299b3b9d.pdf
